In 1994, Fort Worth, Texas grunge band Toadies released their debut album, Rubberneck, from which they developed an astonishingly devoted fanbase who helped launch them into commercial success. The album, which eventually earned platinum status in 1996, has been a ‘90s rock and roll mainstay to this day.
The band is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of their debut album in a huge way. Toadies are kicking off a nationwide tour, playing Rubberneck in its entirety at each stop, at the SXSW 2014 Music Festival next Saturday, March 15 at Stubb’s (801 Red River St) beginning at 8:00PM.
Rubberneck has endured and proven to be a classic two decades after its release. The sound is fearless, driven by crisp distorted guitars, tight drums and the raw vocals of lead singer Vaden Todd Lewis, highlighted on the album’s successful singles “Possum Kingdom” and “Backslider.”
Toadies’ performance at Stubb’s during SXSW Music will be the first time that the band plays Rubberneck live in its entirety. They will take the stage at 8:00PM on Saturday, March 15. Add this very special showcase to your schedule here!
