SXSW 2014 Music Speaker: Buzz Osborne

Buzz Osborne, founding member of the Melvins, has been added as a featured speaker for the SXSW 2014 Music Conference! King Buzzo will be joining James Williamson of The Stooges and Jack Boulware for the James Williamson Interview: From Riffs to Bits session on Friday, March 14th at 12:30pm in Austin Convention Center Room 12AB.

Osborne will certainly add more excitement to what was already going to be a compelling SXSW Music session. The discussion will focus on Williamson’s career, from his early days as a young Detroit musician to lead guitarist for Iggy and The Stooges. Williamson will be telling the story of his transition into a top executive position at Sony, The Stooges’ 2010 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and the band’s new album.

Buzz Osborne started experimental rock band the Melvins in 1983. The band recently released a new album, Tres Cabrones, in November 2013. Buzz will be releasing his first solo acoustic album this spring via Ipecac Recordings. He is also a founding member of the avant-garde metal band band Fantômas along with with Mike Patton (formerly of Faith No More and co-founder of Ipecac).

Join us on Friday, March 14th at 12:30pm in ACC Room 12AB for James Williamson Interview: From Riffs to Bits - now featuring Buzz Osborne as a speaker!
