Conversations

SXSW Film Conversations present a rare opportunity to see iconic actors, filmmakers and other acclaimed creatives revealing their craft and methods in discussion with journalists, bloggers, academics, peers, and of course, you, the audience.

Panels

Film panels provide insight into a broad range aspects of film, media and related fields. Panels generally consist of 2 - 4 panelists, led by a moderator, and aim to educate and enlighten via in-depth discussion, from beginner to advanced level. In short, if you can view it on a screen, chances are you'll learn about it at a SXSW Film panel.

Workshops

Get your hands dirty at a SXSW Film Workshop. Gain practical knowledge and inspiration from experts in acting, social media, cinematography and more. Expect to learn about the latest trends in image acquisition, sound design, casting and many other areas of interest.

Mentor Sessions

The popular Mentor Sessions offer valuable one-to-one interaction with a host of experts in a range of film and related fields. Do you have some burning questions you need answered? Bring them to a Mentor Session and gain essential insight to help you advance your career.

The Digital Domain

The Digital Domain provides a hybrid space allowing discussion and engagement with new frontiers in digital image creation. Guided by the creative imagination behind the projects, expect to encounter web series', interactive documentaries, rich media and cross platform narratives, data visualization and a whole range of other projects pushing the envelope and redefining the future of digital storytelling. Come and Capture Film Factory

New for 2013, SXSW Film introduces the Come & Capture Film Factory, a hub that allows Film participants to explore and interact with the newest tools for capturing and creating content. Located at the InterContinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel Capital Ballroom, Section B - each day will begin with panel discussions, workshops, and demos, and round out with the opportunity for registrants to tinker with a pavilion of products.

Startup Alley

A single day of programming within SXSW Film's regular conference schedule at the Austin Convention Center, come meet the entrepreneurs and investors shaping the future of the entertainment industry. Featuring engaging panels and unique networking opportunities with trailblazing entrepreneurs and expert investors as well as demos from new film and television startups. Taking place Sunday, March 10.

Meet the Insiders

An opportunity to participate in vital discussions on the innovations and developments within the world of Film. Each hour long session will feature two industry insiders: Moderators will start with a 10-minute Q&A, followed by 20 minutes of open discussion and questions with each. Connect with the film community, and gain insight and understanding of the industry from the insiders at the forefront of their respective fields.
