Capital Metro Airport Bus Service – MetroAirport

During SXSW, Capital Metro will be enhancing frequency on the MetroAirport bus service, offering direct access to the downtown area from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. MetroAirport will not travel on Congress March 13-22 and will be detoured to Guadalupe/Lavaca Streets through downtown.

Capital Metro – MetroRail Extended Service

Capital Metro’s MetroRail runs along 32 miles from Leander to downtown Austin. Enjoy a special event MetroRail schedule March 13 - March 22, with service running later than usual: March 13 until 12:30 AM, Saturday March 14 until 2:30 AM, March 15 until 12 AM, March 16-17 until 10:30 PM, March 18-19 until 12:30 AM, March 20-21 until 2:30 AM and no service on Sunday, March 22. Capital Metro – Late Night Traveling Options

Staying out late? Catch a safe ride home ‘til 3 AM using Capital Metro’s Night Owl and E-Bus services. All Capital Metro service info is available at or by calling the GO Line at 512-474-1200.

Capital Metro – MetroRapid Service

Riders have now more traveling options with MetroRapid Route 801 and 803, offering frequent service to downtown, free onboard Wi-Fi and upgraded stations with real-time arrival information. During SXSW, catch a ride March 13-19 until 12:30 AM,March 20-21 until 2:30 AM and March 22 until 10:30 AM.

Capital Metro – Mobile Ticketing App

Easily buy Capital Metro passes on-the-go during SXSW via the FREE CapMetro App. During SXSW, select “special offers” in the app to buy multi-day passes, good for unlimited bus and train rides. Available for purchase beginning March 1:

  • Platinum Transit Pass (good for 11 days) $55.50
  • Interactive/Film Transit Pass (good for 7 days) $27.50
  • Music Transit Pass (good for 7 days) $27.50
  • Anytime Pass (good for 3 days) $21.00

Capital Metro – Downtown Detours

Due to street closures, Capital Metro Routes #4, #17, #21, and #22 will be detoured through downtown and will travel along 5th and 8th Streets. Visit for more information.
