Taxi and pedicab
Cab Services – Cabs are in high demand during SXSW but can sometimes be found circling the downtown area. The following cab services operate in the Austin area.

Taxi cabs can charge a night-time surcharge of $1 per person between the hours of 9pm to 4am authorized by the City of Austin.
Pedicabs are a common sight in the downtown Austin area and operate for a pre-negotiated tip. Flag one down for shorter trips between SXSW venues.
SXcycles 2015 is excited to announce a new collaboration with the popular Austin B-Cycle citywide bikeshare. From Friday, March 13 to Saturday, March 21 – 10am-8pm daily – the SXcycles depot at 604 Driskill St will hand out complimentary B-cycle day pass vouchers to SXSW badgeholders. This $8 value pass grants attendees unlimited 30 minute and under rides 24 hours once activated. Each B-cycle is adjustable, comes with a branded basket, three gear options, branded splash guard, reflectors, and built in lights. Voucher quantities are limited per day, so come early to get moving!
Austin B-cycle stations are conveniently located throughout the downtown area, near all the places you want to be during SXSW. B-cycle’s easy-to-use infrastructure, paired with the excitement of SXSW, is bound to be a fun transit alternative or registrants and the general public alike.
