The second wave of Showcasing Artists for the SXSW 2020 Music Festival is here. We know you have all been patiently waiting so without further ado, we are thrilled to share an additional 210 artists from 36 countries joining this year’s lineup.
This round of Showcasing Artists includes legendary British post-punk band Wire, on the heels of their soon-to-be released 17th studio album Mind Hive; Riceboy Sleeps/Jónsi & Alex member and Sigur Rós collaborator Alex Somers; the Charli XCX-created band and subject of a new Netflix reality series Nasty Cherry (I'm With the Band: Nasty Cherry will debut this Friday); on-the-rise rappers Jucee Froot and Marlon Craft; London jazz collective Steam Down; Tim Burgess, frontman for British pop-rock mainstays The Charlatans; jazz-infused Tokyo hip-hop trio Dos Monos; Hop Along singer Frances Quinlan; left-field Ukrainian pop singer Alina Pash; Mexican psych duo Lorelle Meets The Obsolete; Stone's Throw Records’ L.A. post-punk trio Automatic; Zambian afropop and R&B queen Salma Sky; Major Lazer member and reggae/dancehall/afropop DJ, MC and producer Walshy Fire; Indonesian indie-pop band Reality Club; Colombian electronic dance floor meets retro-latin act Monophonicos; the heart-on-sleeve soulful pop of South London’s Arlo Parks; blissed out dream pop of Bodywash; and a victory lap from chaotic Japanese noise punks and SXSW crowd favorites Otoboke Beaver.
That’s not all.
You can expect showcases presented by some of our longtime partners, including Rolling Loud, Bella Union Records, Digiwaxx Africa, Damnably, Felte, Part Time Punks, Music From Ireland, Levitation, FOCUS Wales, Burgermania, Sounds from Colombia, Bloodshot Records, Saddle Creek, Polyvinyl Records, Double Double Whammy, Sounds from Spain, Traffic Music, Riot Act Media, Jazz Re:freshed, Golden Hornet, and Taiwan Beats in addition to a stack of equally exciting new ones including Mercury Kx, Decca Publishing and Artoffact Records. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
