Announcing the 11th Annual British Music Embassy at SXSW 2018
The British Music Embassy returns to SXSW in 2018 for its 11th year with a six-night line-up of showcases spotlighting the best new British music. BME is produced in partnership with AIM, BBC Music, Department for International Trade (DIT), PPL and PRS for Music, and runs from March 12-17.
This year, the embassy kicks off with DIY Presents on Monday, March 12. On Tuesday, BBC begins their week of programming including BBC Music Introducing presents, BBC Radio 2 presents, BBC 6Music presents, and BBC Radio 1 presents, with the help of BBC DJs Huw Stephens, Jo Whiley, and Steve Lamacq. BME will present 30+ British acts at this year’s festival.
Highlights from this year’s BBC programming showcases include Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes, energetic post-punk act IDLES, art-pop group Superorganism, Rough Trade indie rock act Goat Girl, angular punk three-piece Touts, Hackney rapper NOT3S, and much more.
DIY Mag returns to SXSW with another lineup highlighting emerging British talent. Highlights include punk rockers LIFE, reverb-soaked garage group Our Girl, fuzzed-out glam rock act Catholic Action, and more.
