SMOSH will co-emcee the 2014 SXSW Gaming Awards

With these first few months of the new year, the annual award season is upon us! You didn’t think that SXSW Gaming would sit this one out, did you? Not a chance. Today, we PROUDLY announce our emcees for the 2014 SXSW Gaming Awards! Our emcees are stars in their own right, creating huge waves in the YouTube pool, with a small country’s Gross Domestic Product’s worth of video views and almost 30 million YouTube subscribers combined.

So, without further ado, we are honored to introduce our 2014 SXSW Gaming Awards emcees:

Justine Ezarik a.k.a. iJustine is a one-woman new media phenomenon: techie, gamer, vlogger, and digital influencer. She is one of the top female personalities on YouTube amassing over 3 million subscribers across her channels, more than 1.6 million Twitter followers and has garnered more than 460 million views on her videos. In the same month Justine was named one ofthe Hollywood Reporters 50 most powerful digital players as well as one ofMaxim Magazine's Hot 100.  In 2012, The Daily Beast’s Digital Power Index, amongst the rankings of Lady Gaga and YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley, ranked her the #6 most influential personality. This same year, Justine appeared in the television campaign, directed by Guy Richie, for Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, the fastest-selling video game in history!

Pictured above right, Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox are the duo behind this powerhouse comedy brand SMOSH. Time Magazine called SMOSH the “SNL of the Internet” and Forbes recently named Padilla and Hecox “A New, Purely Digital, Breed of Celebrity,” ranking these two in their Hollywood ’30 Under 30’ two years in a row. SMOSH catapulted to YouTube’s #1 most subscribed channel in 2013, ranks among YouTube’s Top 3 most viewed channels of all time with more than 4 billion lifetime views, and counts over 25 million combined channel subscribers and 10 million social followers. SMOSH's multi-faceted enterprise, based around its flagship YouTube channel and highly trafficked website, includes multiple record-setting channel spinoffs, including SMOSH Games – among YouTube’s fastest growing channels ever, top-charting musical endeavors, merchandising, magazines, mobile apps and gaming.

We hope you are as excited as we are about this year’s emcees. Stay tuned for even more SXSW Gaming Awards announcements — finalists for the 2014 competition will be announced via this website on Tuesday, February 11.
