Image courtesy COSMOSThe last few years have seen an explosion of exciting new material on non-theatrical platforms. TV is in the throes of a new golden age, and SXSW is tuned into the possibilities, so we're delighted to reveal Episodic, a new screening category for SXSW Film 2014. Inspired by previous SXSW programming, including the world premieres of HBO's hit series GIRLS and A&E's Bates Motel, this section will feature some of the innovative new work destined to hit the small screen in the near future.

Our first exciting addition to the section, as we revealed last week, is the reinvented COSMOS: A SpaceTime Odyssey, hosted by Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, picking up where the legendary Carl Sagan left off. Directed by Brannon Brag, the show is written by Ann Druyan and Steve Soter of the original series.

This is just a teaser for more great work in store - stay tuned for more TV announcements coming soon!
