SXSW Featured Speaker: Jarvis Cocker
Cocker fronted Pulp, which along with Oasis and Blur, was one of the most popular of the Brit Pop bands of the ‘90s, and he has long been known for his witty yet often sardonic lyrics. He came to SXSW to help promote the documentary Pulp: A Film About Life, Death & Supermarkets, which screened at the SXSW Film Festival. Cocker’s session was essentially a freewheeling lecture about songwriting but provided an excellent platform for his singular wit and personality.
