Each year at the SXSW Interactive Awards, the People's Choice Award is given to the Interactive community's favorite finalist from the SXSW Interactive Awards competition. Past People's Choice Award winners include Groupon, Americans Elect and deviantART.

The winner of the 2013 People's Choice Award will be announced Tuesday evening, March 12 at the SXSW Interactive Awards Ceremony Presented by Bloomfire. Come for an evening of food, drinks and fun emceed by comedian, actress and podcaster Aisha Tyler. In addition to the winners of the People's Choice Award, Best of Show and 15 categories in the SXSW Interactive Awards, honors will be given out for the 2013 Speaker of the Event and Breakout Digital Trend at the 2013 SXSW Interactive festival, and the Digital Campaign of the Year.

SXSW Interactive will also be honoring researcher, author and longtime SXSW Interactive contributor danah boyd by inducting her into the SXSW Interactive Hall of Fame. The Interactive Hall of Fame inductees are essential members of the Interactive community who have made numerous contributions to the underlying SXSW goals of creativity, innovation and inspiration.

The SXSW Interactive Awards Ceremony is Tuesday evening, March 12 on the 6th floor of the Hilton Austin Downtown. It is open to all SXSW Interactive, Gold and Platinum registrants. Pre-party begins at 6pm and the Ceremony starts at 7pm.
