Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo 2016 SXSW Music Interview [Video]
"We didn't have a path, we made the path... but now the path is there but that's not enough. You have to forge it every single day... to stand there as a beacon for the equality and respect that you deserve." – Pat Benatar
Rock legends and power couple, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, hit us with their best shot in an interview with USA Today's Mike Snider at the 2016 SXSW Music Conference. From love at first sight to their iconic Crimes of Passion album, the duo shares many stories about band beginnings, forging the path of gender equality for musicians in the 80s, their "Holy 14" live set list, feelings on music streaming platforms and much more. To quote the rock queen herself, "love is a battlefield" but Benatar and Giraldo are proof that hard work, open communication and believing in your passions defy all obstacles.
