SXSW Keynote: Richard Florida
Florida appeared at SXSW not long after the publication of his 2002 book The Rise of the Creative Class, which along with his later book Who's Your City?, identified the demographic of young professionals and entrepreneurs whose migrations to urban centers changed those places both socially and economically. This demographic shift has helped establish cities such as Austin as centers for the emergence of “the creative class.”
