Happy Valentine's Day from Startup Village! The 2012 SXSW Festival is coming up and we at Startup Village can't wait to kickoff on Friday, March 9. We've blogged about some of our programmers but you can view the entire schedule online and even set up your personal SXSchedule. Startup Village Showcases: Capital Factory
Bringing together the startup, entrepreneur, and investor communities within the 2012 SXSW Festival, the Interactive Startup Village is held on the 4th floor of the downtown Hilton and will feature a meet-up to find your next co-founder hosted by Capital Factory. When asked for more details about their programming at Startup Village Capital Factory tells us, “It's hard to find a co-founder for your startup. Tell us what you are looking for and we will play the matchmaker. In just an hour, you'll meet a dozen potential co-founders hand-picked for you.”

Grab Your Paddle, There's Gonna Be a Ping Pong Tourney!
Join Startup Village in our inaugural ping pong tourney on Friday, March 9 from 2:00-6:00pm at the downtown Hilton. You need not be a professional, just prepare to have some fun! After February 1 you may register online; if spots are still available you may also register at the event until 3:00PM but note that tournament registration is first come first serve. Each company may select two employees to represent them in our single elimination doubles tournament. No charge to you: we'll provide the paddles, balls, and tables; you bring your best ping pong skills and prepare destroy the competition!
Startup Village Showcases: The Lean Startup
Startup Village takes place on the 4th floor of Austin’s Downtown Hilton and will bring together the startup, entrepreneur, and investor communities within the 2012 SXSW Interactive Festival. Various startup events will be showcased throughout including a full day of programming with The Lean Startup. The Lean Startup SXSW is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to learn pivotal insights and actionable frameworks for building better, faster, smarter companies. The event debuted at last year's festival to a packed house of tech entrepreneurs + enthusiasts, so 500 Startups & Eric Ries (Bestselling Author, The Lean Startup) have been asked to bring The Lean Startup SXSW to a larger venue for the 2012 Interactive lineup.
Startup Village Showcases: Sharp Skirts
Startups are an important part of the global economy as well as an important element of SXSW Interactive—and we are very excited about all that Startup Village will bring to the 2012 SXSW Interactive Festival including a full day's worth of programming presented by Sharp Skirts. Sharp Skirts is a fresh voice for women building businesses; a new media brand and event producer that gives women the content and connections they need to build smart, successful companies. Skirts at South By is a day-long event devoted to all things women in startups.

SXSW Interactive Campuses: Startup Village at Hilton Austin – Downtown
SXSW Interactive has announced the majority of accepted programming proposals for the 2012 season, many of which were received through the SXSW PanelPicker process. We are happy to feature today sessions that have a particular focus on startups and entrepreneurs. The following listing of events will take place on the 4th floor of the Hilton Austin – Downtown (500 East 4th Street) as a part of SXSW Startup Village.
The Hilton Austin – Downtown is easily accessible from the Austin Convention Center – just walk across 4th Street and you are there.
