SXSW 2014 Band: Amplified Heat

From Roky Erickson to Spoon and everything in between, countless innovative musicians have called Austin their home since the 1960s. Austin Chronicle writers and Chronolog radio hosts Chase Hoffberger and Kevin Curtin (not the other way around which was confirmed on last week’s show) would probably argue that our local music scene is thriving like it never has before - and they have the tracks to back it up.

On today’s episode of Chronolog on SXSWfm, Chase and Kevin will be dropping brand new tracks from Austin stalwarts Spoon and newcomers Magna Carda, plus recently released tunes by OBN IIIs, Megafauna and much more more. Old-timers need not worry - our hosts will be reaching back and spinning some classic tunes from Central Texas artists, too.

Another consistent fixture on the Chronolog is the weekly rundown of best live shows happening in Austin throughout the weekend. Listen to preview these bands and check below for the details. The show airs every Thursday at 12 & 6 CST and there are a variety of ways to listen, including desktop, mobile and TuneIn. Check out our SoundCloud page for archived shows if you miss the live streams!
