With the first SXsports programming track kicking off today, what can attendees come to expect? This installment of the Session Spotlight features the WWE’s Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon giving a preview of the panel “Crushing Second Screen: The Ultimate TV Companion” which occurs on Sunday, March 9 at 11:00 am at the Driskill. SXSW: What kinds of topics will you be covering in this session?
McMahon: In our session, we will discuss brand and content distribution strategy, and reveal how WWE uses technology, storytelling and innovative product strategies to engage one of the most passionate fan bases in the world, including the first-ever live, 24/7 streaming OTT network.

SXSW: Have you spoken on this topic before? If so, where and when and what kind of reaction did the session receive?
McMahon: Last year at SXSW, I was proud to be part of WWE’s panel about our integrated content strategy. We received great feedback from all attendees. There were also 3,657 mentions of the event on Twitter, generating an estimated 236 million impressions.

SXSW: What kinds of people will want to attend this session?
McMahon: Everyone from media to fans to businesses trying to learn more about digital, social, and how to engage fans with content 24/7. WWE launched WWE Network, the first-ever live 24/7 streaming OTT network, on Monday, February 24, offering our fans yet another way to engage with WWE in a way that bridges generational gaps and allows our fans to consume content anytime, anywhere, on the platform they prefer. This panel will show people how WWE has not only created a new way to watch television, but how we continue to drive product and storylines to our more than 265 million social media followers.

SXSW: What excites you most about this session?
McMahon: The opportunity to share WWE’s story and engage with the SXSW audience.

SXSW: In your opinion, why is speaking at SXSW a big deal?
McMahon: SXSW is the most prestigious and interactive conference in the digital space. I love learning from and engaging with fellow attendees.

SXSW: What is your favorite aspect of SXSW?
McMahon: Meeting new people and hearing their thoughts, questions and ideas.

SXSW: Who do you follow on Twitter and why?
McMahon: WWE Superstars, to support them and see how they are engaging with the WWE Universe as well as key influencers and media. Sean Gardner is also one of my favorites; his tweets are always positive and inspirational, exactly what social media is about.
