Music from Ireland, an initiative of First Music Contact in partnership with Culture Ireland, is an international showcase platform for Irish music at key industry festivals.
SXSW is one of five international music showcases which are produced and presented by First Music Contact and Culture Ireland each year [www.cultureireland.ie]. Other events include Eurosonic, CMW, CMJ and The Great Escape. Bands are funded, showcased and promoted at each event, with the objective of building further opportunities for the artists.
At SXSW 2013, MFI will present the Full Irish Breakfast, an official day-long showcase of new Irish music at BD Riley's on Friday 15th March. MFI will also host the SXSW panel Constructive Disruption for the Music Biz featuring Ireland’s leading rock journalist Jim Carroll and Finian Murphy on Tuesday 12th March at 11:00AM.
