Heidi Happy - "On The Hills": SXSW 2013 Shocasing Artist

The Swiss singer and multi instrumentalist HEIDI HAPPY started her career in 2006 with the album \"Back Together\" and was immediately embraced for her warm voice and her unique songwriting. Five years later, after hundreds of shows in Switzerland and abroad, collaborations with big names like Yello or Stephan Eicher, she peaked with her most ambitious work \"Hiding With The Wolves\" (2011), which she wrote and arranged for a whole symphonic orchestra and which entered the Swiss Album Charts at number 10.

Hailing from the barrier dunes of Virginia, this quartet blends heavy riffs, a rolling groove, and soulful guitar melodies to produce the sound that is Freedom Hawk. Their brand of heavy rock coupled with a high energy live show, leaves many wondering if they’ve stepped through a time warp that has taken them to rock’s heyday of the 70’s. The origins of Freedom Hawk began in 2003 when friends Mark Cave (bass) and TR Morton (guitar; singer) were introduced to Lenny Hines (drums) through a mutual friend.

When Matthew Moldowan and Jeffrey Josiah Powell let the name expire on their previous act, they walked away from an outfi¬t that never got past the grand planning stage despite a great record and the approval of critics. When the two regrouped in 2010, the whole idea was to be as nimble as possible—and voila, by 2011, they were in the Warehouse studio working on the bed tracks for their debut album on Light Organ Records.

New Ivory - "All Around Me": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

New Ivory is a three-piece band hailing from London. They’re made up of Mickey (vocals , lead guitar ), Alessandro ( bass ) and Andy ( drums ). They formed a band in 2008 and played several gigs across Europe. In 2010 they recorded their first EP which gained critical success. Dim Mak ultimately signed the band. They’ve just hit the studio to record their first complete album which is going to be released by the end of 2012. New Ivory is from remote parts unknown to the soul, from past to present sounds of distorted countenance-reflected from thoughts and emotions.
