Blessed Feathers - "Holyoke: Springfield": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

West Bend is a Southeast Wisconsin town where the Milwaukee River shifts directions, angling to suddenly head West. It's also the home of Blessed Feathers, a duo that began when Donivan Berube's life similarly altered course. Hailing from Lakeland Florida, FL, Berube was raised as a Jehovah's Witness, teaching himself guitar and recorded songs in his bedroom in an attempt to pursue his passion. The musician eventually left home at 17, disassociating himself from the church and driving 36 hours from the Florida sunshine into a Wisconsin blizzard.

Crooked Bangs - "Evil Eye": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

Crooked Bangs are an ominous postpunk pop garage band from Austin, Texas. They\'re a tight band playing unhinged music or possibly vice versa. As a whole, it comes together like a lost Factory Records band letting off steam with some Nuggets classics in a freewheeling but taut Peel Session. Europe 1978 layered onto America 1965 and delivered to a punk scene that\'s dissatisfied with 2012. Crooked Bangs have been a band for 1 year. Their debut full length LP landed in august 2012, via new Austin, TX based label Western Medical Records.

Jack Savoretti - "Not Worthy": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

With his husky voice, a head full of catchy tunes and a story to tell, Jack Savoretti would seem to have everything it takes. Yet, just one year ago - with two albums already to his name, a raft of rave reviews, and a legion of fans from five years of solid gigging - Jack was about to pack it all in. Having left his former label and management, he had become thoroughly disillusioned with the music biz at the age of 27. "I was seriously thinking about giving it all up," he admits.

Royal Canoe - "Guitar Blue": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

Royal Canoe is a group of musicians on a mission to construct ambitious, inventive music. The songs are thick with catchiness, rich in rhythm and are consistently pushing against the boundaries of pop music. They spend almost every day in a shit-hole rehearsal space writing hooks, singing through effects pedals, scrawling lyrics on scraps of paper, and constructing heavy beats in odd time signatures.

Evy Jane - "Sayso": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

Armed with a slew of synths, guitars, and analogue pedals, the two have been writing and producing music since 2010. They will release a four song EP Spring 2013.
