Indie-folk pop band from Austin, Texas, began as an acoustic duo consisting of Kelsey Wilson and Alexander Beggins singing ukulele love songs written and shared over red wine and old photographs. With northern U.S. parks and fields as their backdrop and a tour van as their practice studio, Kelsey and Alexander formed their first ten songs, flawlessly documenting the ups and downs of a less than idealistic yet enchanting romance.
Chali 2na MC. Musician. Actor. Painter. Renaissance Man.
Chali 2na has done it all. From his days growing up on the hardscrabble streets of Chicago's south side, to his subsequent explosion onto Los Angeles' burgeoning hip-hop scene, to his tenure as MC for seminal hip-hop group Jurassic 5, Chali epitomizes the portrait of a 21st century artist.
To be sure, with his unmistakable, beloved baritone, Chali has firmly established himself as one of the most distinctive, charismatic personalities not just in hip-hop, but music in general.
Growing up in and around Sydney's southern beaches isn't easy. As a general rule you have three options: You can surf, become a DJ or leave. Shitty choices if all you like doing is playing guitars and pounding drums. With the dire thought of becoming a bunch of disc spinning, fake tanned roidheads seeded deep in their psyche, five guys rallied together, branded themselves STRANGERS and began writing gritty rock anthems for the masses.
Bestial Mouths formed in Los Angeles, California in 2009. Drawing from a large base of influences including the early industrial, synthpunk, and goth scenes of the late 70's and early 80's, founders Lynette Cerezo and Christopher Myrick sought to explore new imagery in creating an original aesthetic that avoided some of the cliches typically prevalent in "dark" music. The band currently consists of Gustavo Aldana (synthesizers and programming) and Jessica Reuter (drums) in addition to Cerezo (vocals) and Myrick (synthesizers).
Not long ago, the members of Motive were shredding through jazz lead sheets and getting carted across the U.S. and Europe to showcase their young talent. Nowadays, Motive populates a different scene. These Seattle transplants, turned Brooklynites, emerged from a Clinton Hill, Brooklyn practice space onto stages around the city and are rapidly taking NYC -- and the internet -- by storm.
China Rats formed in Leeds in the Summer of 2011. They released their debut EP \'To Be Like I' in April 2012 and quickly earned the attention of BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens, which resulted in a spot on the BBC Radio 1 Introducing Playlist with an anthem called N.O.M.O.N.E.Y. '(At Least Those) Kids Are Getting Fed' the follow up single received airplay on BBC Radio 1, XFM, BBC 6 Music amongst others and was Single Of The Week on hugely influential French Music Magazine Les Inrockuptibles.
The Ghost Wave sound finds itself somewhere between the Flying Nun bands of the 80s, the British explosion of the 1960s and the wayfaring dubs of Lee "Scratch" Perry. Sunny, loud, and laid back...

"Drilling, screeching, rasping sounds, distortion and ominous drumbeats, inspired by 'sado-masochism' and 'confusion' from two former Texas Altar Boys"
The success of regional Hip-Hop is only as strong as the sum of its parts. For Houston, Texas the reputation of its rappers slants in favor of pimped out rhymes in the name of the late DJ Screw. For Dustin Prestige, his mission rests not on changing the face of Houston emcees, rather diversifying it.
