On behalf of the SXSWfm staff, we want to thank everyone who came out to show their support for Austin’s musicians at the HAAM Benefit Day Showcase presented by SXSWfm this past Tuesday, September 24th. It was a perfect evening that featured three great Austin bands, a silent auction, beer drinking, and, of course, fundraising for an organization doing great work for musicians in the city of Austin, the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians.

The Rocketboys, Frank Smith, and The Peterson Brothers Band absolutely killed it. We want to especially thank them for donating their time and bearing with us through the technical difficulties.

All of our partners contributed their time, money, or both to this fundraiser for HAAM, and we cannot thank them enough. Contributing partners for this event included:
The Austin Chronicle
Miller Lite
Austin Parks Foundation
Under Pressure Screen Printing
Wooldridge Square
Pink Avocado
Austin Pure Water Treatment
HAAM
Austin Parks & Recreation
W3 Events
Juniors Beer & Wine
Lone Star Latrine
Premiere Tents & Events
Nomad Sound

Most importantly, the community turnout at SXSWfm’s HAAM Benefit Day concert showed us that residents of Austin truly care about the welfare of the city’s working musicians. Every penny we raised is going straight to HAAM and we’re very much looking forward to doing it again next year!
