Following eight mixtapes and series of chart topping production credits, IamSu!’s highly anticipated debut album, Sincerely Yours, is finally set to drop on May 13th. He kicked off the countdown last week with ‘Show You’, a track that just missed the cut, featuring fellow Heartbreak Kids (HBK) Gang member Jay Ant and (surprisingly) 50 Cent. Its boastful hook “I ain’t even gonna stunt, but I can show you how” serves as a hint of what’s to come.

Like the majority of Su’s work, the lyrics are neither deep nor subversive. There is no violence, anger or heartbreak (ironic given the crew’s name) - in the hyphy spirit of HBK’s bay area forefathers, it’s just fun. Jay Ant’s production features characteristic finger-snaps, hand-claps and a thumping bass line, driving the track’s buoyant flow. Even 50 Cent manages to adapt, spitting his party-ready verse like a Nor-Cal native.

IamSu! made waves at SXSW Music this year (his 3rd in a row), with a series of packed showcases that included performances with Wiz Khalifa, Sage the Gemini, Ty Dolla $ign and more. Check out a few tour highlights via HBK’s YouTube channel.
