2013 SXSW Showcasing Artist Less Than Jake

It’s hard to believe pop-punk and ska veterans Less Than Jake have been making music for 20 years! The band released a new album, Greetings and Salutations, late last year. A recent update on Less Than Jake’s website indicates that their performance at SXSW 2013 was just the beginning of extensive touring this year.

2013 is going to be a very busy year for Clairy Browne and the Bangin' Rackettes, a nine-piece explosion of sound from Melbourne, Australia. The band kicked off their first U.S. tour immediately after SXSW 2013 and they are releasing their debut record, Baby Caught The Bus, in May. They will be touring in the U.S. through mid-April. We would like to send a big thanks to everyone who came out to join us for our SXSW V2V Launch Party at Brush Square Park during SXSW this year! We had a blast bouncing in the castle, washing down corn dogs and cotton candy with beer and vodka, playing board games and giant chess, and talking all things SXSW V2V.

Now that the dust has settled, it's time to roll up our sleeves and dive deep into SXSW V2V.

Clean guitars, subtle keyboards, and a magnificent, angelic voice to bring it all together. The Tontons' music starts simple, but then it flawlessly transforms into a more active and vibrant sound. The transitions between the soft, quiet sections and the loud, more aggressive parts are beautifully done! The simplicity of each individual instrument allows for a very concise overall structure. It’s refreshing to hear a band that really understands how to work within the limits of each song.
