Style X Panels to Feature Emerging Fashion Brands, Bloggers and Musicians
What Goes Around Comes Around and Piper Gore to Zanerobe and Taylor & Stitch, we now know to expect of the top emerging brands at this year’s Style X. Today, the official fashion showcase of SXSW announced a slew of panelists sure to make this year’s event even bigger.
The Man Repeller, Grungy Gentleman, Marcus Troy and JFK Jean, some of the top emerging bloggers on style will be coming to Austin to speak on panels discussing menswear, street fashion and technology.
“Style X is truly a platform for finding and sharing insights from emerging brands and industry thought leaders, both new and established, on what’s next in style,” said Joah Spearman, co-founder and executive producer of the second-year event. “These panels, like the rest of Style X, are free and open to the public, offering a deep glimpse into the oft-exclusive world of fashion right here in Austin during SXSW Music.”
Last year, Style X included three panels which covered the intersection of music, fashion and technology and the resounding success has led to the doubling of the panels, to six.
Nora Abousteit, co-founder of online sewing community BurdaStyle, Lily Mandelbaum of StyleLikeU, Indiana Adams of Adored Austin, and Kyle Vucko of Indochino will also serve as panelists.
Noble Gentlemen’s Daniel Maynard, designers Jason Ferro (Gap), Seth Weisser (What Goes Around Comes Around), Leith Testoni, Junior Scott Pence (We Are All Smith), and musicians Mike Lee (Letting Up Despite Great Faults) and Troupe Gammage (SPEAK) will round out the panels with insights from their design and music backgrounds.
Like the rest of Style X’s showcase – which also includes runway shows with musicians as the models – these panels are free and open to the public in the Austin Convention Center. Style X will take place March 16 & 17 from noon to 8 p.m. both days. Come to discover, shop, experience, and, most definitely, learn.
