Cyborg Anthropologist Amber Case to Keynote SXSW Interactive
Each day of SXSW Interactive brings a special keynote presentation
from the brightest minds in emerging technology. While we announced
comedian Baratunde Thurston as our opening keynote speaker in August, we are now thrilled to reveal that cyborg anthropologist Amber Case will be one of our esteemed keynotes at the 2012 event.
In addition to studying the symbiotic nature of humans and machines as a cyborg anthropologist, Case is a user experience designer who focuses on mobile software, augmented reality and data visualization. Hailing from Portland, Oregon, she founded Geoloqi.com, a private location sharing application, out of a frustration with existing social protocols around text messaging and wayfinding. She has been profiled in numerous publications such as Forbes and WIRED, and she was recently featured in Fast Company as one of the Most Influential Women in Technology. In addition to this acclaim, she has consistently been voted one of the top-rated speakers at SXSW Interactive.
Amber Case will no doubt give us a glimpse into our future and spark a thought-provoking discussion on what it means to be human in our digital world. Stay tuned for complete scheduling details, additional keynote announcements, and even more exciting information about the incredible experience we have planned for you in March.
