Comics at SXSW 2010

South by Southwest is excited to announce the lineup of comics and special Comedy programming for this year’s event, March 12 – 19, 2011 in Austin, Texas. New for 2011, SXSW will feature Comedy programming during the Film and Interactive portions from Saturday, March 12 - Tuesday, March 15, open to Film, Interactive, Gold and Platinum Badgeholders. These additions join the long-standing showcases during the Music event on Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19, which are open to Music and Platinum Badgeholders. All comedy events will be held at Austin's legendary Esther's Follies (525 E. 6th St.)

FILM & INTERACTIVE COMEDY SHOWCASES

For the first time, SXSW Comedy kicks off during the Film and Interactive festivals with a series of stand-up showcases featuring some of the brightest stars in comedy today. Open to all SXSW Film, Interactive, Gold and Platinum Badgeholders.

Marc Maron brings his critically acclaimed podcast from his garage in Los Angeles to our stage in Austin, TX. WTF is a comic on comic interview, whose topics often include the arc of the interviewees career, shared past experiences, and current affairs.

MUSICFEST COMEDY SHOWCASES

To close out the final weekend of festivities, SXSW Comedy will host two nights of stand-up showcases during the Music event. Featuring Tig Notaro, Donald Glover, Glenn Wool, Amy Schumer, Eugene Mirman, Chelsea Peretti and more. These shows will be open to SXSW Music and Platinum Badgeholders, and SXSW wristbands.

THE BENSON INTERRUPTION
