The LP Questionnaire/Pick Three - Hannibal Buress
Comedian Hannibal Buress was a very skilled debater in high school.
He moved to a new neighborhood when he was seven and told people his name was David because he didn't want to tell them his name was Hannibal.
He's part of tonight's esteemed Comedy Central showcase and we're super stoked to have him and his sly wit back. That whole show promises to be pretty laughworthy.
The LP Questionnaire
Name:Hannibal Buress
1. Pretend you’re 15. Name three songs you'd put on a mix tape for your girlfriend. In 1998 I was 15. I'd probably put more than three songs on a mixtape. I also didn't have a girlfriend during this time at all so I really have to stretch for this question. I'm a big Jay-z fan and Vol 2. Hard Knock Life came out that year. It was a favorite of mine. So I guess I would pick "It's Alright" from that album. I had the Timbaland album at this time. It was called Tim's Bio. He made all of the beats and had guests throughout the album. Aaliyah did a song called "John Blaze" featuring Missy Elliot. I would imagine that she was talking about me during it. What was really crazy about 1998 was the fact that DMX put out two albums that year. Two albums in one year! That's how much people liked him. Now he just gets arrested a lot. I wouldn't put a DMX song on the mixtape. I just thought you should know that. The third song would be me rapping over Al Green's "Love and Happiness". It would be five verses about being on the debate team even though I didn't join the debate team until 1999 but whatever.
2. Which evil villain would make the best President? Probably Magneto. Negotiating would be very easy because he can fly and destroy things with ease.
3. What was your favorite cartoon as a child? I really enjoyed X-Men. Gambit was really cool. He would throw cards at people and they would explode. I thought that was great. Also, I answered question four in this question so I could make a snarky joke in question four. Check it out.
4. What superpower do you wish you had? I wish I had the superpower to walk away from a conversation that's going to be a waste of my time.
5. What would the title of your autobiography be? It would be called Please Don't Call Me Hannibal Lecter - The Hannibal Buress Story
Pick Three
J. Cole: I definitely want to catch J. Cole. He's a new young rapper. I caught his show in NY a few months back and he had some great guest verses on Jay-z and Wale's albums.
Jean Grae: Jean Grae is one of the best lyricists period. She says some stuff that you have to listen to a couple times to catch it. She definitely should get more exposure.
Is Janelle Monae playing this year? I didn't even check. I saw her perform twice last year and she blew me away. Her act is amazing. It makes me question what I'm doing as a performer even though we're in different genres. I hope she's here this year.
Two more entries and it's time to close the book on this year's LPQ/Pick Threes. Before that happens, take a trip down memory lane here.

In my dreams it's still the same, lp
