The LP Questionnaire/Pick Three - Charles Watson of Slow Club

slowclub_img05_hires.jpegI think charming is probably the most oft thrown around adjective used to describe UK duo Slow Club. They may draw some inevitable comparisons to the White Stripes but their songs and persona exude a sort of innocent sweetness that I perhaps never associated with Jack & Meg.

Singer/guitarist Charles Watson is heavily influenced by Leonard Cohen, cites chocolate as his vice and is originally from Sheffield where he met Rebecca Taylor (his partner in Slow Club) in high school.

If you have a look at their video for "Trophy Room" I think you'll be super inclined to run run run to their SXSW showcase at Latitude 30 next Saturday night at 1am... or, you know, maybe Friday night at Lambert's (also at 1 am).

Charles took a minute to do The LPQ and Pick Three and, well, I'll confess this is the first time I've had to grapple with the fact that anyone was 15 in 2002. Have a look...

Saturday's off to a slow start here at l'office. I imagine there's an awesome nerd frenzy going on down at ACC. I wish I could be there to join in the interestingness but alas, my time to bear witness doesn't come til next Tuesday when skinny jeans and mustaches will cover the land. If you enjoyed this li'l feature, you can read loads more here. I'll be back later with more from Instrumenti and Fitz and the Tantrums.
