Ben Huh Wants to Show You How to Rawk SXSW
Wired Magazine recently published an interesting article profiling internet entrepreneur, SXSW panelist, and Pet Holdings Inc. CEO, Ben Huh. PHI is the parent company of an assortment of hilarious user-generated communities like FailBlog, LOLCats, and the popular I Can Has Cheezburger? Under the direction of Huh, PHI has focused on the development of humorous sites that rely on user-submitted content. It is now the largest aggregator of Web memes, drawing in more than 200 million page views a month combined.
The term meme is used to describe humorous content that spreads virally via the Internet, and Huh is at the forefront of accelerating the development of the meme-aggregation marketplace. However, much of Huh’s success is owed to the millions who submit their own LOLcats or FAIL entries and ensure a continuous supply of content. Many attribute the websites' success to Huh's business model: PHI blogs don’t intend to sell you anything; they just intend to make you laugh.
Join Ben Huh at SXSW Interactive 2010 as he speaks on the panel “How to Rawk SXSW," because we’re guessing if anyone knows how to rawk, he does.
