SXSW Spotlight - Road Recovery
In the vein of the LP questionnaire, we decided to ask the participants in the upcoming SXSW '09 a few questions as a way to introduce them to our registrants. So without further ado, meet Road Recovery!
Who are you and what do you do?
Road Recovery is dedicated to helping young people battle addiction and other adversities by harnessing the influence of entertainment industry professionals who have confronted similar crises and now wish to share their experience and knowledge. With support from the mental health field, non-profit Road Recovery provides hands-on mentorship training, educational/performance workshops, peer-support networking, and “all access” to real-life opportunities by collaborating with young people to create and present live-concert events.

How many times have you and/or your company participated at SXSW?
Road Recovery participates in its third consecutive year for SXSW-2009 with an exhibition booth, bag stuffer and a youth outreach event with Austin-based organizations.

What are Road Recovery's goals for SXSW '09?
1. Outreach to youth and expansion of Road Recovery programming in Austin.
2. Awareness about Road Recovery amongst the worldwide music industry
3. Provide a resource to youth facing addiction and/or other adversities while enabling our industry peers who have faced similar crises an opportunity to give back and do service.
4. Raffle for $1: a kick-ass electric guitar from the Road Recovery SXSW Exhibition stand!
