SXSW is excited to announce the participation of Rock en Español pioneers Maldita Vecindad y Los Hijos del Quinto Patio. They began performing in underground circuits in 1985 and their fusion of rock, ska, and Mexican traditional folk rhythms, managed to sell a record-breaking 1 million copies of their 1991 sophomore release “El Circo”, something unheard of for a supposed underground act. Maldita Vecindiad y Los Hijos del Quinto Patio paved the way for many Latin Alternative Rock acts in Mexico and the US and have continued to break down cultural barriers and tour around the globe.

Now in celebration of their 25th year anniversary, Maldita Vecindad y Los Hijos del Quinto Patio will debut their first album in 10 years “Circular Colectivo” at SXSW on the Live Nation Latino showcase.
