Brand partnerships have become a powerful force in the music business, and during SXSW Music this year, moderator Dez Dickerson, President and CEO of Pavilion Entertainment, led a discussion with reps from various corners of the music sphere who've had great success working with brands to create lasting and fruitful connections. SXSW Interactive staffers were amazed to hear that a longtime member of our community and 2012 opening keynote speaker, Baratunde Thurston, announced that he is moving on from his role at The Onion. In his own words, Thurston said, "Today, with a deep sense of nostalgia, I'm excited to move to the next chapter of that insane life having stepped down as Director of Digital to pursue more entrepreneurial ventures."
