eMLS Cup Presented by Playstation Announced For SXSW 2020

SXSW is thrilled to host the 2020 eMLS Cup presented by PlayStation. Taking place during the second half of SXSW on March 21, the eMLS Cup is the marquee tournament of eMLS - capping off the competitive season with the largest prize pool.

eMLS is the esports and gaming property of Major League Soccer. Built around the EA SPORTS™ FIFA franchise, eMLS converges gaming and soccer to grow its next generation of fans. Attendees who catch the eMLS Cup at SXSW will not only get to learn by watching the best FIFA players in North America battle it out on stage to be crowned eMLS Cup champion, but they will also be part of an environment where FIFA, soccer, and music come together.

The eMLS season will begin in January 2020 where each League Series tournament will be live-streamed with their own trophy lift and prizing opportunities. During these tournaments, eMLS players will also accumulate points to determine seeding for eMLS Cup. League Series One will be held in Philadelphia, League Series Two in Portland, leading to the eMLS season concluding in Austin during SXSW.
