Brenda passed away on Saturday, September 29 in Austin following a long, heroic battle with cancer. Her passion for music and the people who created it led to a position as Panels Coordinator for SXSW from 1988-1992 – the lean, early years when a comparative handful of people worked insanely long hours putting the event together.

Last Chance to Have Your Brand on a SXSW Big Bag!

Photo Credit: Jojo MarionPhoto Credit: Jojo MarionTime is quickly running out to present one of SXSW’s iconic big bags. Given to all registrants when they arrive at the event, the bags play an important role in the SXSW experience–as functional tools during SXSW week, and as long-lasting souvenirs after the event.

There is a separate bag for each conference (Music, Film and Interactive), all with original artwork by well known and up-and-coming artists. Presenters of the big bags will have their brand name and logo printed prominently on the opposite side. Presenting these bags is a perfect way to gain enduring brand exposure. This year is the 20th anniversary for SXSW Film and Interactive, so it is a particularly memorable time to be involved.

Producer Ken ScottProducer Ken Scott SXSW Music is very pleased to announce an interview with legendary producer Ken Scott at SXSW Music 2013.

One of the five engineers for The Beatles and producer of Bowie's Ziggy Stardust, Scott has recently penned his memoir Abbey Road To Ziggy Stardust, chronicling his amazing career. Fellow producer Kevin Augunas, owner of Fairfax Recordings, will sit down with Ken to discuss his incredible body of work, hear some unique stories and (likely hilarious) insider anecdotes, as well as nitty-gritty studio techniques he's used in making legendary albums.
