The SXSW® Music and Media Conference is back for its 27th year. Our reputation as the biggest and most anticipated convergence of all things music is being kept alive by our continued effort to offer compelling daytime programming and stellar nighttime showcases.

Less Than Jake to headline Fat Wreck Chords Showcase
San Francisco based punk rock label Fat Wreck Chords will return to the festival this year to host a showcase at Red 7 Patio on Friday, March 15th. Ska/punk band Less Than Jake, who've just released a new album entitled Greetings And Salutations, will headline the show. Also on the bill are Teenage Bottlerocket and Canadian punk group The Flatliners. High energy groups Masked Intruder and Livids are included in the lineup as well. Yotam Ben-Horin of Israeli band Useless ID will be opening the night with a very special acoustic set, so make sure to arrive early!

SXSW Music is pleased to announce a special addition to our conference program. Acclaimed artist Richard Thompson, named one of the "20 Greatest Guitarists" by Rolling Stone, will offer a Songwriter Session for SXSW attendees. With guitar in hand, Thompson will discuss the creative process with Scott Goldman of MusiCares, field questions from attendees, and perform a few songs as well. This session will take place on Friday, March 15.

Running March 13 - 17, 2013, FILTER will be taking over Austin's Rainey Street with a four-day “block party” taking over some of the best venues in town including Lustre Pearl, Bar 96, Clive Bar and special pop-up locations including Container Bar! There will be bands that you don't want to miss (and shindigs that you won't be able to stop bragging to your friends about), so start booking your planes, trains and automobiles for Texas because next month is going to be nuts!
