Photo Credit: Merrick Ales Attention gear heads! The SXSW Music Gear Expo is the only to place find, play and learn about the best gear in the industry! 2013’s expo will be bigger and better than ever, with an amazing selection of exhibitors and a number of exiting new features.

Taylor Guitars, Santa Cruz Guitars, Casio, KMC Musicorp, Bullet Cable, Eventide, Telefunken, Apogee Electronics, P3 Amps, Bohemian Guitars, Ultimate Ears, Fingerprint Audio, Seymour Duncan, Olympus and SMS Audio are just a few of the many great companies you will be able to check out from March 14-16 at the Austin Convention Center.

New for 2013! Try out your skills with cool music creation and virtual instrument apps like Propellerhead at the App Annex, a special tech addition to the show. The Music Gear Expo is free and open to the public.

GRAMMY Nominee Nas at SXSW 2012

Last week saw the announcement of the 55th Annual GRAMMY nominations and we couldn't help but notice many familiar faces from SXSW's past. Leading the nominations were repeat SXSW alumns Dan Auerbach and Mumford & Sons, along with 2012 alum Fun. joining Frank Ocean and Kanye West, all of whom raked in 6 nods each. Auerbach's band, The Black Keys, wasn't far behind with 5 nominations, and another familiar SXSW artist, Nas, earned 4.

2013 Performing Band Savages

With just over 800 bands already announced, the excitement for SXSW 2013 Music Festival is palpable, but we're not done yet. We are just scratching the surface. While a plethora of genres and countries are well represented in our initial lists, you can rest assured that there are many more additions to come.

We are hard at work, continuing to select bands for the perfect mix of established icons, crowd favorites and up-and-comers from all over the world. Capturing the unparalleled exposure to the industry and media that SXSW provides, these acts are certain to bring their A-game.
