SXSW Music Showcases

Over 2000 bands performing on over 90 stages make the SXSW Festival an amazing opportunity to see what the best up and coming acts in the world have to offer. (Admission subject to capacity.)

SXSW Music Talks

SXSW Music Talks are a great opportunity to learn more about the music business and hear industry professionals speak about trends in the international music industry. Mentor Sessions give you a chance to speak directly with industry professionals in an encouraging environment. Listening Sessions offer live critiques on demos submitted from the audience. New for 2012, Artist Central features programming specifically geared towards our musician registrants.

SXSW Trade Show

Meet with hundreds of companies that offer services to artists and music businesses at the SXSW Trade Show. Also a great place to meet international music industry attendees and learn about their territories. View current exhibitors.
Location: Ground Level of Austin Convention Center, Exhibit Halls 3 & 4.

Music Gear Expo

Returning for its third year as the exhibition for musicians and enthusiasts, Music Gear Expo is a cornucopia of guitars, keyboards, amps, effects pedals, drums, mics, DJ equipment, mixing software, music education and more. Come try out the newest, coolest, cutting edge instruments, register for giveaways, meet the gear pros. New for 2012 is the Music Gear Expo Store, where Strait Music will be on hand providing a central spot to buy last-minute accessories like drum sticks, drum heads, cables and a range of instruments too. The Strait Music pros will have technicians on site for repairs too.
Location: Ground level of the Austin Convention Center, Exhibit Hall 5

Artist Lounge: Sponsored by Square

Enjoy complimentary beverages, snacks and WiFi at the SXSW Artist Lounge, Sponsored by Square and don't forget to pick up your free Square reader! Back for the third year, Sonicbids will be giving out free artist backpacks in the Lounge.
Hours of Access: 10am – 6pm (Saturday 10am - 4pm)
Hospitality Provided: Noon – 6pm
Location: Level 4 of the Austin Convention Center, Ballroom F on west side (Trinity St.). Elevator or escalator access.

Artist Village and Artist Village After Dark

Artist Village offers artists a place to recharge in the afternoon with a bite to eat or stop by between showcases "After Dark" for a drink. Come by, relax for a few minutes, grab a beer and have some snacks.
Hospitality Hours: Beer and food: 4pm-7pm, Cocktails, beers and refreshments: 10pm–2am (closed from 7pm-10pm to refresh for evening activities)

Artist Parking

Your artist packet will contain information about parking options available to Music Fest showcasing artists. Look for that info when you pick up the packet at Artist Check In at the Austin Convention Center.
