Now that it is officially 2013, you can expect plenty of new programming announcements coming from all corners of SXSW. Stay tuned this week as the Music Festival is ready to release another round of band announcements. It should prove quite helpful for those who still need a little convincing before they purchase their 2013 registration. Bruce Springsteen: MusiCares 2013 Person of the Year

In June 2012, MusiCares announced that it was going to honor Bruce Springsteen as their 2013 Person of the Year. Just this week, they've announced an impressive list of performers, many of whom are also SXSW alumni, who will pay tribute to the legendary performer when the gala takes place on February 8, 2013. According to the website, performing bands include: Alabama Shakes, Jackson Browne, Kenny Chesney, Ben Harper, Emmylou Harris, Faith Hill, Jim James, Elton John, Juanes, John Legend, Natalie Maines, Tim McGraw, Tom Morello, Mumford & Sons, Patti Smith, Mavis Staples, Sting, Eddie Vedder and Neil Young with Jon Stewart taking on hosting duties.
