Austin, Chicago and NYC-based music blog BrooklynVegan returns to SXSW this year with four big day parties, and three evening showcases that span indie rock, punk, electronic, hip hop and metal.

The BrooklynVegan day parties, which run from noon-6pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, happen across the two stages at 603 Red River (corner of 6th Street). You might remember the space as the old location of Emo's, but these days we call it The Main & The Jr.

BV SXSW The 50+ artists day party lineups include Death (who are the subject of a documentary screening at SXSW), Robyn Hitchcock, Camper Van Beethoven (their only SXSW set), Cloud Nothings, Austra, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, (all 23 members of) The Polyphonic Spree, Foxygen, King Tuff, METZ, Delorean, Beach Fossils, Anamanaguchi, Braids, Marnie Stern, Maserati, Savages, Caitlin Rose, Caveman, The Spits, Shout Out Louds, The Thermals, Akron/Family, A Place to Bury Strangers, Diamond Rings, Autre Ne Veut, Today is the Day, Milk Music, Widowspeak, TOY, Doldrums and many more.

BrooklynVegan Day Parties are free to the public with RSVP, but SXSW badge and wristband holders will receive priority admittance.

On Friday night (3/15) you'll find two very different BrooklynVegan-curated shows happening in two different parts of town. If you want to dance, head to Maggie Mae's Rooftop on 6th Street for a 9-artist bill that mixes hip hop (Mykki Blanco, Zebra Katz, The Underachievers & more) and electronic (XXYYXX, Giraffage & more) for a night that is sure to go perfectly with the wearable "social lighting" being loaned to attendees by Illuminode.

Meanwhile across town, right after the Flaming Lips Auditorium Shores show, BrooklynVegan & Enabler co-present "Our Heart Aches For Syria", a benefit show featuring Syria's Omar Souleyman, The Black Lips, Deer Tick, last minute addition Deradoorian and more. The Auditorium Shores aftershow is open to the public with a $10 donation to to the International Red Cross's Syrian Arab Red Crescent.

Finally, in conjunction with metal blog, Invisible Oranges (who also curated one of the BV day party stages), BrooklynVegan finishes up their SXSW 2013 run with a six-band, Saturday night metal bill at The North Door where bands like Pallbearer and Mutilation Rites will be joined by a special solo set from Baroness vocalist John Baizley. If you can't be there, you can also watch from home on SXSW.COM/LIVE.
