SXSW 2013 Music Session

The SXSW Music Conference includes sessions that cover industry issues across the board - but in certain situations, musical genre can have a huge impact on the decisions artists make. Think about it - do rap artists promote and release their music the same way as metal bands? In many cases, probably not.

At SXSW Music, artists, managers, and label representatives are encouraged to attend the plethora of sessions discussing issues that come up with specific genres. In addition to the problems that apply to certain types of artists, attendees also have the opportunity to learn about musical trends popping up in places like Africa or Sweden.
