SXSW 2015 PanelPicker will be here sooner than you think - the online process for submitting SXSW conference sessions will open to the public next Tuesday, July 1!

Those of you wracking your brains and developing ideas for submission might be asking yourselves, "What are the keys to a successful panel at SXSW?" Thousands of ideas have come through PanelPicker since it first opened in 2007, and some have been more successful than others. The PanelPicker process for SXSW Music 2014 brought in quite a few strong ideas that flourished at the conference in March.

For example, Night of the Living Dead: The Grateful Dead + EDM was a big hit at the SXSW 2014 Music Conference. Why? First of all, it has a great title. It’s immediately captivating to the reader. And, most importantly, the overall concept is thought-provoking, clear and has a point-of-view. Who knew the worlds of The Grateful Dead and EDM were so interconnected?

What about the intersection of food and indie rock? The Indie Food is the New Indie Rock session at SXSW 2014 answered that question. Again, the title is both straightforward and intriguing, the idea is relatively new, and the questions offered by the panel organizer were succinct. The biggest thing that set this session idea apart was the mix of panelists: the music and food industries were equally represented here.

Other PanelPicker success stories for the SXSW 2014 Music and Media Conference included Sync to Success: How to Get Placed & Get Paid, U.S. Immigration Options for Musicians from Abroad, Life Beyond Music: Musical Hobby to Musical Career, A Billion Tiny Screens: Future of Social Visual, and Your Friends Have Bad Taste: Fixing Social Music.
