TEEN at SXSW 2014

We’ve been spoiled with back-to-back weeks chock-full of some really great new albums from SXSW 2014 Music Festival alumni artists, so we were due for a little bit of a break. Don’t sleep on this week’s new music, though - three SXSW 2014 Showcasing Artists are releasing solid full-length albums today in the US!

Blues veterans G. Love and the Special Sauce are fresh from a multi-year hiatus with their seventh studio album, Sugar. The Philadelphia trio mixes it up a little more than usual with this effort, blending funk and soul into their signature blues/hip hop sound.

UK alt rockers To Kill A King put out their debut full-length, Cannibals With Cutlery, just about everywhere else besides the States in 2013. Those of you in the U.S. searching for some under-the-radar indie rock, look no further.

If you previewed TEEN’s second album, The Way and Color, on Pitchfork over the last week, you know that the band, which includes the former keyboardist of Here We Go Magic, has turned out a solid sophomore record worthy of multiple listens. Coincidentally, the band is in Austin today to play two shows, one alongside Phantogram.

Check back next week for much more new music from SXSW 2014 Showcasing Artists!
