Requiemme Management and Music is hosting its sixth official showcase at SXSW with a bi-coastal lineup that starts with a dance party and ends with a rock and roll show like only New York City's Jesse Malin can perform. The showcase is taking place at Javelina (69 Rainey St) on Friday, March 14th starting at 8pm.
The front man for glam/punk band D Generation, Malin has been a constant fixture on the road since 2001 and an established artist in his own right.
Detroit natives The Dogs also return to SXSW in the midnight slot. They first arrived on the motor city scene with the likes of The Stooges and MC5. They recently toured Japan and remain as raw and hungry as ever. And New York City's Born Cages, guided by D Generation manager Kenny Gabor, play at 11pm. Alternative Press selected them as one of the bands you need to know in 2013 and their debut release is expected later this summer.
The electronic pop dance duo Okapi Sun celebrate their upcoming debut full length Techno Prisoners. They worked with Ethan Allen (Gram Rabbit) and Neal Pogue on the record to be released on L.A. start-up label Phaedra Records. Pogue also produced Atlanta's Esprit De Corps who play at 9pm.
