Wayne Kramer at SXSW 2009

Today's Throw Back is the always forward-looking Wayne Kramer. SXSW has had the pleasure of presenting musician and activist Wayne Kramer as a showcasing artist and speaker many times, starting with a rambunctious MC5 panel in 1999. This past March, he spoke on the Fifty Years of the Rolling Stones panel and curated our Jimi Hendrix tribute concert at the Butler Park stage.

Wayne has recently released Lexington, a great jazz record inspired by his time in federal prison. He continues outreach to prisoners with the Jail Guitar Doors organization. Wayne recently appeared on Marc Maron's podcast, which serves as a great overview of his fascinating life.
