Austin, Texas-based record label and artist management company Modern Outsider is returning to present a showcase during the SXSW 2014 Music Festival! The showcase - happening Wednesday, March 12th at Parish Underground - is packed with some of the premier folk, electronic, and rock artists out there right now.
The Crookes of Sheffield, UK will be headlining the showcase. The indie pop quartet is preparing to release their third full-length album, Soapbox, this year, so expect them to be showing off some new tunes at SXSW. The lineup also includes Black Pistol Fire, Mirror Travel, The Black and White Years, Soft Swells, and Jess Williamson.
Modern Outsider was founded in Austin, Texas in October 2010 as a full-service management company and record label by husband and wife team, Chip and Erin Adams. Collectively, they have well over two decades of experience in various facets of the music industry, from radio promotion at Dangerbird Records, Capitol Records, The Syndicate, and Cornerstone where they also handled digital marketing. They have also been in charge of editorial at the tastemaking site, TheTripwire.com. Their mission is simple: discover and release great music while building a tight-knit community for their artists.
