SXSW 2014 Music Showcase Presenter: KCRW

Baltimore trio Future Islands make their SXSW debut this year, headlining KCRW’s official nighttime showcase at Haven on Wednesday, March 12th in advance of their first album on lauded label 4AD.

UK singer Sam Smith made a splash as a guest on Disclosure’s debut and will showcase songs from his own highly anticipated solo effort on the KCRW showcase, part of his inevitable US invasion. The LA public radio station’s hometown is represented by Jamestown Revival, an incredible live band bursting with energy and the undeniably catchy single “California (Cast Iron Soul)”.

Brooklyn quartet Bear Hands’ new album features some supremely poppy moments, coupled with a good dose of punk and riveting rock, while Brighton trio Kins bring their wistful guitar pop sounds to the streets of Austin.

And the young British lads in Glass Animals, with the guidance of super producer Paul Epworth (Adele/Foster the People), have crafted a dreamy, synthy, surreal debut worthy of attention.

See all of these excellent up-and-coming bands at the KCRW Music Showcase, happening on Wednesday, March 12th at Haven.
