WOMEX is back at SXSW with a cherry-picked line-up of music that'll have you traversing the globe (sonically, at least) in one single night!
For the sixth year running, WOMEX organizers will curate a night featuring some of the most exciting international acts currently setting the touring circuit abuzz.
These include Azerbaijani singer and performer of the Mughams, Gochag Askarov, the South Korean post-rock outfit Jambinai, who blend traditional instruments with ruthless electric-guitars and drums, plus the long-standing France-based musicians, Lo’Jo.
Here is the complete lineup:
8:00PM - Mariachi Las Pioneras de México (Mexico)
9:00PM - Gochag Askarov Ensemble (Azerbaijan)
10:00PM - Taluna (Italy)
11:00PM - Lo'Jo (France)
12:00PM - Jambinai (South Korea)
1:00AM - Quantic (UK)
This year, the showcases will be held at Flamingo Cantina on Thursday, March 13th at 8:00pm.
WOMEX is the most important annual international professional market of music from around the globe, with the 2013 edition hosting over 2,250 delegates from more than 90 countries, 750 exhibitors, and over 60 acts on six stages.
The WOMEX team is looking forward to scouting out some interesting artists at SXSW to propose for WOMEX’s next edition, in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain from October 22–26, 2014. Come join us to continue your global experience!
