To say 2014 is an important year for many bands and their classic albums would be an understatement. Perhaps none are more significant than the 40th anniversary of Blondie’s formation.

To commemorate this milestone, the band is releasing a special double-disc album today, Tuesday, May 13, titled Blondie 4(0)-Ever. The release includes a greatest hits compilation (Greatest Hits Deluxe Redux) as well as their first album of brand new material in three years (Ghosts of Download).

The band has been celebrating its 40th anniversary throughout the year, kicking it off with a performance in Times Square on New Years Eve. We were fortunate enough to be a part of the year-long celebration here at SXSW 2014 - Blondie performed in two showcases and members of the band took some time to sit down for an interview during the Music Conference. We will premiere footage from the interview on our YouTube channel later this summer.

Those of you hoping to be a part of the celebration can catch the legendary band on an upcoming tour in the US and Europe.
