It's been a long time since I've heard such infectious German ladypop (try Nena). That being said, though the band lives in Hamburg, BOY vocalist Valeska Steiner, actually hails from Switzerland.
Their hit, "Little Numbers," is a YouTube sensation with over 7.5 million views and there's more good sounds coming your way this month with the North American release of their debut album Mutual Friends.
Steiner's voice invokes a bit of Feist despite being non-native to the English language, but to me what's most interesting is how universal music is, how we're all coming from the same place in song.
Valeska is pictured here, on the right, happily posing with bandmate Sonja Glass after a concert in Paris.
And here's her...

Heidi Happy: I really like what she does and a few years ago, I spent a great time touring with her and a big bunch of other Swiss musicians. I haven't seen her for quite a while and I'm looking forward to meeting her again at the festival!
Bonaparte: I saw them live in Hamburg once and they played a very energetic, sweaty and fun show. I'd love to see that again!
