Sisters Jennifer and Jessie Clavin hail from the San Fernando Valley and form the band Bleached. Crunchy guitars and a driving beat hearken back to grittier days in the 818... lollipops and hints of darkness and fun. Their debut album Ride Your Heart drops on April 2.

Expect plenty of mischief at SXSW Comedy this year - and not just because we'll be taking over three venues for dozens of shows during the festival. Say hello to The Mischief, two days of programming at The North Door (502 Brushy Street) presented by CleftClips, Funny or Die, and Team Coco.

The Enemy - "Gimme the Sign": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

If you could bottle the spirit of THE ENEMY and flog it Coventry, UK might just have an export to rival their proud motor industry heritage.

Frontman Tom Clarke, bassist Andy Hopkins and drummer Liam Watts are back with a ferocious, guitar-heavy and typically anthemic third album. The band, with Joby J Ford from The Bronx on producing duties, have been in LA rediscovering the DNA that helped a young three-piece from the West Midlands explode into the charts in 2006.

Snowblink - "Black and White Mountains": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

Snowblink is Daniela Gesundheit and a rotating roster of accompanying musicians. Daniela was conceived in Las Vegas in July 1981. Snowblink was conceived in Los Angeles, twenty-three years later. This is what the musical belly brought: songs featuring a rotating roster of four-to-seven boy back-up singers, fiddle, harp, banjo, pedal steel, and party trumpets.

Young Hines - "Don't Break My Fall": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

Rowdy power pop revivalist Brendan Benson adds record label proprietor to his résumé with the release of Young Hines' full-length debut, Give Me My Change. The inaugural release for Benson's Readymade Records introduces listeners to the Atlanta born, Nashville based singer/songwriter Hines, who fronted a Beatles cover band before his online demos helped land his big break.

White Poppy - "I Had A Dream": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

White Poppy is the experimental pop project of Canadian musician and artist Crystal Dorval. Dorval self produces and records all the music for White Poppy at her makeshift home studio in Vancouver BC.

Not Not Fun records released the debut cassette “I Had A Dream” in 2012, and will be releasing a full length LP in the spring of 2013.

Dorval also creates psychedelic art and video. Both of these visual elements are incorporated into White Poppy.

Subkulture Patriots - "Eskape": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

The concepts and ideology of the SubKulture Patriots were created by Brian Tanton aka "The Brain". In November of 2010 he linked up with HBZ aka Boo Radley from the critically acclaimed Spin Alley. RuDi Devino a founding member of the Short Bus Alumni followed after Cap'n Kirk, aka A.K. a former member of Diasporic and the Anti-Gravity Crew, completing the alliance the following year. The end result was a group of like minded emcees with one common goal; to share their music with the world!

Rites Wild - "Rites Wild Theme": SXSW 2013 Showcasing Artist

Rites Wild is one of the solo monikers of South Australian-born musician Stacey Wilson. Wilson is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, visual artist, graphic designer and owner of record label ‘Heavy Lows’. Wilson also plays in a band, Terrible Truths, and has two other solo incarnations, Regional Curse and Comfort Zones. All releases are self recorded and mixed by Wilson at home. Beginning in late 2010, Rites Wild has released 5 cassettes, a CDR and a LP, as well as featuring on compilations including ‘We Are After All Here’ from New Weird Australia.
