Born in Brazil (1980), 2010 ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award Winner, Gabriel Santiago is a Composer/Arranger/ Acoustic and Electric Guitar Player. Called by JazzTimes Magazine “a young master at both the acoustic and electric guitars” and his compositions defined as “stunners”, Santiago is currently living in Austin, Texas, where he just completed (with high honors) a Doctoral Degree in Music Composition at the University of Texas at Austin.

SXSW Music is excited to announce an interview with hip hop superstar 50 Cent on Saturday, March 16. Hear him tell of his meteoric rise to fame from humble beginnings in Queens, to his discovery by Eminem in 2002, which blasted off an incredibly successful musical career and his own label, G-Unit Records. He'll discuss how he parlayed this into a significant hip hop empire, as well as his current work with SMS Headphones and the upcoming release of his album Street King Immortal.

2013 Showcasing Band Japandroids
Where can you see Ghostface Killah, The Specials and Iggy and the Stooges in one night at one of Austin’s favorite intimate music venues, the Mohawk? The legends are joined by rising stars Japandroids, Middle Class Rut and Sky Ferreira in a raucous riot of hip hop, ska, punk rock, indie and synth-pop that is the must-see SXSW Music Festival lineup and it’s only at House of Vans at the Mohawk presented by Fat Possum Records on March 13.

Vice is barreling into Austin for SXSW 2013! Their compound, aptly named VICELAND will be an official lounge during SXSW Interactive, with live music every night, and will turn into an official showcasing venue during SXSW Music. Head on down to VICELAND for WiFi, food and drink, meetings, debauchery, quiet time, and some unexpected twists. In Vice's own words: "It's going to melt your face and then your laptop, and anyone else's face or laptop within your vicinity."
